I am lucky to have wise friends:
"Put your intention out to the Universe, and see what it gives back." -Scott Kaplan
"You create your own reality." -Adrian Williamson

Back in High School (and some of college), I was quite the Physicalist/Atheist. There were no such thing as "synchronicities".
Id be home with Mom. The phone would ring, and it would be some old friend of hers whom she hadn't spoken to in ever so long, but quite coincidentally, she would explain ever so sincerely, just that moment she had thought of said friend, and no sooner did she than did she than had this friend just happened to call, that very moment.
"Coincidence!" I cried. "Rampant irrationality." None of that hokey nonsense. She would serenely disagree.

Sphere (1998)
Beth: Are you telling me that by Harry going into the Sphere, he now has the power to manifest his dreams, his fantasies.
Norman: MANIFEST! MANIFEST! He made it happen. It's not that different from a child. A child imagines something that believes its real and its not there, but with Harry, He not only makes it real from himself, he makes real for all of us.

It's several years later, now. Ellie comes to visit. Something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear. Seems to involve certain friends. But now it's just her and I, we're on the shuttle to Harvard Square, and I turn the conversation turn to this unspoken thing, the connections, the significance, our reality. It is really difficult to explain everything; yet somehow by trying so hard it becomes more deeply clear. The same would later happen at Dad's apartment over break. But that night, it went so that, things played out. Coincidences. Walking past the mysterious Harvard party. Ethan and co at "The Donkey Show". I thought of Ayal, picked up cell to text him, and lo and behold he appeared. Right there in Au Bon Pain.

Inception (2010)
Cobb: You create the world of the dream, you bring the subject into that dream, and they fill it with their subconscious.
Ariadne: How could I ever acquire enough detail to make them think that its reality?
Cobb: Well dreams, they feel real while we're in them, right? It's only when we wake up that we realize how things are actually strange. Let me ask you a question, you, you never really remember the beginning of a dream do you? You always wind up right in the middle of what's going on.
Ariadne: I guess, yeah.
Cobb: So how did we end up here?
Ariadne: Well we just came from the a...
Cobb: Think about it Ariadne, how did you get here? Where are you right now?
Ariadne: We're dreaming?
Cobb: You're actually in the middle of the workshop right now, sleeping. This is your first lesson in shared dreaming. Stay calm.

Dr. Nasr says, "If we are intellectually awake, we realize that we cannot reduce consciousness to that which is itself contained in our consciousness."
Dr. Grof says, "Consciousness is not possibly the product of the brain of the brain. It exists or can exist independently of the body, and it's an equal partner or possibly superordinate to the world of matter."
Dr. Einstein says, "A human being is a part of a whole, called by us 'universe', a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."

I say, if consciousness is the first principle, then reality may well be manifestable. Manipulatable. Subject to creation by our intentionality.
Seriously. Deepak Chopra may have meditated and the earth began to shake. My mom may have intuited her friend's intention to phone her. I may have manifested Ayal in Harvard Square.
We may all be like Ariadne, unaware that we are dreaming - together - a massive mutual shared dream. We may be like Crichton's characters in Sphere, unaware that the "thing" is not in the sphere... but in us.

And together, we may all be manifesting the whole of reality.

... I agree with Dr. Nasr, but not Dr. Grof; to state what isn't possible requires at least a bit of evidence ...
