tribe of vegetites
descendants still identify as vegetites, and even according to vegetite law are and will remain vegetites (though the extent to which they can be labelled as "legitimate veggies" is under dispute within vegetite law); the descendants also feel that they uphold the value and spirit of vegetism although they knowinlgy do not keep what they know to be vegetite law: in fact, what they do is eat meat.  nonetheless they like to feel veggieish and so they do eat certain veggies which are known to have high special value in vegitite law, and they basically believe in a vague-ish type of veggieish philosophy, although by eating meat ultimately they show by their actions that this belief does not take the place psychologically of a deeply held tenet about life, so much as a functional but possibly outdated belief, potentially compatible with many kinds of belief, even ones which (unbeknownst to these highly-educated but not necessarily literate in the nuances of their own never mind world religions) are in fact quite contradictory to veggititism.  furthermore, vegitites do have a belief that one day all people should be vegetarians, and should follow if NOT according to all vegetite law (indeed they feel that some laws are best kept to the vegetites themselves and do not need to be shared never mind obligated on all types of cuisines around the world), will at least recognize the ultimately validity and supremacy of the vegitite source of customs and beliefs.

it is likely that the average "new vegiite" would feel that they understand the importance of the original vegish laws and try to stay true to the spirit of these laws.  furthermore they feel that, but . , those who take vegish law so seriously and literally are missing the whole point, and are rather stupid and/or ignorant of the "real world" besides, and have to keep up with the times and are the source of many problems.  hence they feel that by "reconsidering" the original intention of the vegiish law they can continue to derive the meaning that laws such as these held for their ancestors, who likely came up with such traditions in order to preserve a certain social order, yet nevertheless had some legitimate ideas in there, plus it never hurts to at least outwardly or to some extent show respect for tradition and or the 'ancient ways'.  so, they attempt to save and rescue and preserve vegiism from itself by fixing up the menu a little bit , repackaging it for a new customer who is COMPLETELY unused to eating salad or raw veggies of any sort, cook them up, add a little sauce here and there, permit if some beef goes into it too because otherwise there might literally not be any buyers amongst the target audience, and sell it as 'modern veggie-ism'.

now what you have are first of all a set of a few original proponents, and continued intellectual defenders, of such a philosophy, and second of all, the many many adherents to such a philosophy, who honestly believe that what they know of vegitism is not only sufficient but more than enough, in fact oftentimes still too much, and quite well satisfies the place which vegitism is and should occupy in one's life in order to have an overall healthy balanced diet.  hence, they do eat meat, and they feel fine about it, considering that they have certain days on which they too eat only vegetables in honor of their ancestors who only ate vegetables, at all times, even though they feel that such a lifestyle was and would be patently silly, even though they know (at least intellectually, though many have not met and even more have not had the chance to become decently well-acquainted with, one such) that vegetites exist who do continue to legimitately and knowingly keep and dutifully uphold such a lifestyle.

the issue with all this is NOT that these people do not keep vegitism; it is a point of still un-fully-known not to mention highly contentious thought to claim that vegitism is, indeed, the only true way to dine.  however, it can be shown, rather simply and without any conceivable logical objection, that the self-stated hypothesis which is held by most if not all of these so-called "new vegiites", is self-contradictory and patently untenable.  it is impossible to have it both ways and it makes no sense to say that one is still a vegiite, or a "new vegiite" or a "reform vegiite" or "humanistic vegiite" or whatever else they may define themselves as (for there are certainly multiple different and as equally mutually-suspicious strains of these sort as they collectively are against "orthodox vegiites"), when one is continually flaunting (to some extent knowingly in almost all cases) vegiite law, on the basis that the law is anything other than what the law itself purports itself to be, because to accept and deny it at the same time is, as i have said, self-contradictory.

if this argument is confusing or difficult for you to understand, it is either because i have used a strange and silly analogy, or because i employ complex sentence structure in order to achieve a satirical effect, or because the intellectual substance of this piece is of such a level of complexity that it may not be immediately accesible to access except by those who have thought about such issues in-depth themselves.  hence, many people will dismiss this as the kind of nonsense employed by "old school vegiites" otherwise known to them as "ultra-orthodox vegiites" who are considered to "radicals" and "crazies", or else they will merely permit their personal pride and need for ego protection against self-injury to invent other rationalizations or merely shut down their willingness to consider these ideas thoroughly and honestly, which is understandable because even though it is not a personal attack against any of these "new vegiites", it is certainly a scathing and unrelenting deconstruction and defenestration of some of their most deeply-held life beliefs, or at least certain beliefs which they have social license to label 'sacred', 'personal', 'inviolable', 'subjective', or in some other way invulnerable and off-limits from this kind of excoriation.

where it gets really interesting is where you have a whole new set of "organic vegiites" who actually do keep a strict raw diet and are basically actually vegetarian, yet they nonetheless change many recipes and occasionally do things in such a way that while still totally veggie, is not what the author of the first veggie recipe book, nor the many chefs who followed who gave further instructions and interpretations as to what was intended in these original and sometimes unclear directions, wrote to do.  these feel that they are 'breathing new life' into the tired old recipes while still remaining quite aware and quite true to the very real spirit of veggiism.

regarding these we say that they are also blasphemous retards because they deny that the author who wrote the original fucking textbook was actually a divine being with intelligence who knows who you are and what you are doing and does not think your recipes taste very good, you idiot.  they also basically deny that the author EVER EXISTED, that the people who first began to eat these foods made up the recipes themselves, that the recipes have been changing continually ever since so we might as well continue to change them

they also really really think that you can rather well 'intuit' the recipes if you are a pretty good cook yourself, and that you can feed your food to your family and see that it turns them into pretty good cooks themselves with pretty strong cooking intuitions, not to mention wonderful table manners, stellar kitchen etiquette, knowledge of all the original recipes as well the new ones, encyclopoedic memory for which ingredients are which and where are the utensils are stored, and so forth.  these are people we are used to calling "sus-chefs" and are entitled to high status within vegiite culture and law, and so it is very easy to look at these people and given their greatness in many respects, assign such or similar labels to them as well.  these people are unfortunately blessed with the sus-chef gene, but were never given adequate training regarding the intricicaces, nuances, and beautiful subtleties of the many tried and true and even relatively special and arcane recipes which are available from the original holy veggiite cookbook as well as its interpreted progenitors' works, not to mention the many lovely hot controversies between great sus-chefs as to the truly correct way to cook such a dish, and so on.  certain spices are truly optional or added to taste.  in fact many things are given in proportion and not in exact quantity, except of course in certain circumstances.  however the real beauty is in studying and learning to become the best chef you can, to cooking AND eating all these dishes yourself, understanding the recipes and the ideas and meanings in their ingredients behind them and where they come from and so on and so forth.  indeed the seeming 'righteous sus-chef' raised in a non-orthodox kitchen likely has a real knack for cooking which they could really sink their proverbial teeth into were they given the opportunity.

another issue: men and women are not equal partners in the kitchen.  they actually have assigned roles to play, and just as important in the original vegiite law is how they are supposed to share responsibilities and conduct themselves in the kitchen.  moreover in order both to become the best chefs they can, and ALSO to ensure the growth of the future generations of chefs, they are expected to produce children who can carry on their tradition.  this in itself is actually a dish they can prepare following a recipe, which new vegiites are likely to find disturbing and confusing, and which needs much further unpacking if you really want to take that literally and seriously.

finally, all this is really situated in circumstances which are as follows:
-the whole crew were expelled from the original Holy Promised Kitchen thousands of years ago only to be allowed to return conditionally 2000 years later, where they found it a mess, and promptly populated it with non-practicing veggiites who are nonetheless some of the greatest cooks left in the world of veggie peoples, as well as a number of the only true diehard veggie believers left, who are of course relegated to awkward places in the kitchen, praying to the oven to restore itself to its original glory, which only they really remember while everyone else regards said oven (which truth be told only has one door handle left of it) as a relic.....
-everyone else in the world basically decided to steal ideas from the veggiesh cookbooks, and further invented new cookbooks, which are confused with the original one, and they have also retranslated the first cookbook into a variety of languages
-nobody but the diehards understands how to read the latter cookbooks which are actually understand to be part of the original cookbook but only in the way that 'the chef who understands understands what it means' and unless you are such a chef the notes are goin to be otherwise meaningless
-there are self hating veggiites, anti-veggiites, and altogether the veggiites actually only make up .25% of the world restaurant population
-probably  probably think they also taste fine, but they like a little variety, or prefer the new ones, or they are unaware of certain if not most of the original dishes.
-there are a lot of brilliant chefs out there doing a lot of ridiculous and genius cooking , but they are not necessarily 'righteous chefs'.
-there are indeed many veggiites who have more or less renounced vegiism and the emphasis on kitchen etiquette and so forth, focusing rather on their own cooking, and getting it to be as good as possible, both to share with the world, enrich themselves artistically and culinarily, support themselves, and create something new which they feel is what the world always needs and always has needed

-certain woman are learning how to become pretty darn good cooks themselves, oftentimes very true to the original cookbook, understanding it full well, reading it and learning it and applying it, and hence doing everything right except certain things about the expected gender kitchen roles, and they are hurt and insulted when they are told they are not allowed to do the things in the kitchen they are trying to do.  they are concerned whether they are actually doing damage in the originator's kitchen or doing good or what.
-it is unclear what the true role of the woman is supposed to be , especially to many men, and especially because it is generally understand that woman truly understand the kitchen much better than men, and really are the ones who are eating all the stuff that the men have to cook even though the woman cook probably cook it better herself, and so on
-there are shamanistic cultures out there who have discovered ways to access the mind of the original creator cookbook author and hence understand many of the mystical secrets inherent in the unique combinatinos of cooking.  they use this secret knowledge to become something of original creators themselves.  their origins and function are mysterious and yet misunderstood by the vegiites who consider themselves to be the ONLY true believers and knowers of the divine secrets in the cooking
-certain imposter-cooked dishes can in fact be as good as the original dishes
-yet like the women these are cooked by imposters so the original cook book author who is also the restaurant manager and has secret cameras everywhere and also secretly is inside you too, is not happy with what is going on when there are people whom he did not instruct attempting to make the whole thing work
-some people seem to understand that the entire restaurant is a very real metaphor, that the creator is everything, the restaurant, the people, and the food alike, and that there are whole universes yet to be really understand outside of the restaurant
-the restaurant seems to operate in accordance with whatever natural law yet these laws are only so because the manager is keeping it that way
-one day we will have the original holy kitchen restored, all the vegiites returned to it, the sus-chefs allowed to continued their tradition of cooking, the proper authorities in place to keep things running smoothly, all the other kitchens will be allowed to do their thing, provided they do not violate certain things (like using meat or whatever) and or violence or stealing against themselves or each other, and that they have their own authorities available to tell their own kitchens what to do....

and what of vegiites who choose to leave?
kares.

keeping kosher is NOT an option
keeping shabbat is NOT optional
keeping it in the way they do is not according to the law, and regardless, most do not really keep it at all.  i have at least a lot more respect for a "conservative vegiite" who recognizes and respects the law the way it is instead of flagrantly upending it, and turning perfectly good veggie dishes which our veggie lord hath given us into a new age cocktail of bastardized pan-asian food, packaged cereal, a tiny bit of veggie leftovers, and MEAT.
